8 weeks with Mom

Hard to believe mom has been living with us for 8 weeks but we have adjusted to having her in the house and she has adjusted to being here. Life is different with another person in the house but you’ll get your chance. I do her laundry with ours so we have noticed a huge increase in laundry! Also, have to get used to serving dinner every night and although we still go out some, not nearly as much as we usually would. It is difficult to take her out although she does enjoy it when she does go out. Also, have to plan for breakfast and lunch, so the dishwasher runs much more frequently. She does usually have coffee and banana for breakfast with something else such as toast, grits or occasionally eggs or cereal. A and I have worked to get everything organized with her house but A and T will continue this when she moves on. A with bills and everyday checks and T with the yard. Also, been taking her to church each week and I will tell you you have to start early but she will be ready to go when you want to leave. Another thing I had not thought of was the need to be present when she bathes. She is concerned about the risk of falling so she wants someone close. It just takes longer than you might think, so you need to plan for it every few nights or weekend morning. She can bathe herself but does ask me to help her wash her hair sometimes. We have a shower so easier to get in and out of. She will be traveling with her shower chair and if you want, her stick on handle for the bathtub (only works on slick or porcelain tile) and a handle for the tub (for her to hold onto getting in and out of the tub. She will be moving onto P City in about 3 weeks, so if you have any questions for me let me know.
